i have been doing some plate deadlifts, but even with rubber plates at the gym they slip a lot over 3 x 25kg plates and i need to lift 5
that thing you had made up would work well

What about a loading pin like they use when using the rolling thunder. Put plates on then collar(s) to hold weights in place?

If the pin is 2" diameter then that will do. Any smaller and the 20kg plates will just move about. Remember: you're turned the plate stack on it's side like a wheel and lifting it, not like a stack of (power) pancakes.

I`m going to have to work out some way to plan lapping that 110 stone into my regular training program alone with some grip work.
