I have used a short length of broom handle to work on the quads. Like foam rolling but more painful.

Did you find it brought any added benefits than just using the foam roller?

It hurt more  Whether that did me any good or not I don't know, but it helped the endorphines flow before a heavy lift!

So you used before training.

I`ve never done anything like that for fear of injury.

My chiro has one, only uses it sparingly. Its okay I suppose. Not impressive enough for me to request him using it. Feels good though, but a massage works better even if you do it yourself....yeah I know what you guys are thinking.

Still contemplating getting one even though yesterday I just pulled a dowel out of one of our old dinning table chairs & used that to a decent degree. :-k

Have cut the bottom out of a vitamin tub which then slips over the dowel, reducing the friction as well as excessive pressure using the dowel on its own produced.

Finding plenty of "issues"
