Tour Of Scotland....battle of the stones

Postby Cookie » Thu Sep 16, 2010 6:37 pm

In a little over 3 weeks myself & Samurai69 will be heading off too & around Scotland lifting some of the famous stones in that country.

On the cards at the moment are the Dinnie Stones (S69) Inver Stone (myself & S69) Dalwinnie (S69 & Myself) with possible attempts on the Menzies, Fianna and Findowie stones & Stone of Dalness.

If & when possible I`ll try & get some live feeds going or failing that video footage up onto youtube & then on here with regular updates on how everything is going.

live feeds will be good

training for the dinnies has been going well, though i have a "ganglion" on my left hand at the moment, which apparently needs to burst on its own, which has made grip work with my left hand very painfull

i plan on resting my grip all week, so any deadlifting or stone training will be done with straps if at allthen a full week of grip work the following week tapering down the week befoe the journey north

i have now lifted over the dinnie weight 2 times 1 without straps and the other with

next week i am planning on adding a plate to the atlas stone maybe 2 to get a better feel of the weight

I`m at the other end of the scale with no stone work leading up to any of my attempts due in part to the niggles with my arm & I want to see what carry over strength I have within me from other forms of training I`ve done.

Basically going into this semi blind.

I`m 5 stone lighter then you so have a bigger battle against those as you call them "small stones" ;-)
