We have used the FMS, as an example of generic screening methods and how they leave a lot of grey area in diagnosing dysfunctional movements and injury risk. subjects are graded on a scale of 1-3 (if i remember correctly) 1; being 'can not perform movement', 2; being 'can perform most of the movement correctly' and 3; being 'correct movement' based on visual analysis. It is good for identifying that a subject 'shouldn't move in that way' but does little to determine the cause.

It is easy to use and may be good for screening large numbers of people but I think it is too generic and a bit of a money spinner more than anything. better to diagnose problems on individual basis, i would rather refer someone with a problem to physio or rehab to take a proper look
