training heavy - multiple times a week

what are your thoughts on training heavy, say a 8x3 routine, lifting same muscle group multiple times a week.

recent reading ive been doing, oly lifters lifting frequently and this article by chad

i for instance atm am training 2 big compound moves, then oly technique with bar and streching, with bit of other stuff thrown in.

but i am liking doing very basic training, but lifting often.

an example would be

front squat 8x3
deads 8x3
with couple of assistance work slightly higher reps inbetween
oly work

twice a week

and similar with bench and voerhead press.

thoughts?

It can be done but only if your fit enough to be able to recovery properly.

When I have 5 minutes I'll have a look at that link.

Normally for me I'll go heavy twice per week but the second workout of the week has less total number of sets than the first.

i have guys here going Very heavy 3 times per week full body no problem, just keep an eye on any feelings of lethargy kreeping in

i train oly lifts 2 x per week and then still do normal training on top of that

I feel lathargic and ill most of the time so don't think that have much to do with it.
I like doing the full body and heavy, keeps me loving the workouts. Suppose see how it goes

well like i say, guys here do a 6 week cycle of 5x5 full body heavy as possible and make good gains in strength
