Vitamin Amounts

Postby James W » Wed Jan 31, 2007 7:56 pm

Having discussed it with OSC I recently invested in some vitamins, just the basic stuff.

OSC you were kind enough to tell me the amounts for lots of them but a couple slipped through the net.

I was going to PM you however I thought that if I do it this way then everybody learns and not just me!

Ok so I bought an Anti-Oxidant one that contains ......

Ingredients:

Selenium Amino Acid Chelate 5% 200mcg (100% RDA), Vitamin C (Abscorbic Acid) 60mg (100% RDA), Super Oxide Dismutase 30mg, Zinc Amino Acid Chelate 20% 15mg (100% RDA), Alpha Lipoic Acid 15mg, Dl Alpha Tocopherol Acetate (Vit E) 10mg (100% RDA), Retinyl Acetate (325iu/mg) Vitamin A 800mcg (100% RDA)

...per capsule.

I also got a Vit B complex along with some Vit C, glucosamine sulphate and cod liver oil.

I have down that I should have about
1000mg cod liver oil
750-1000mg glucosamine sulphate spread over 2 doses
500mg Vit C (along with a multi vit)

I have no idea on the Vit B complex or the Anti Oxidant?

OSC or anyone else what do you think?

Also, have i got the others correct?

And on OSC's advice ill try 3 days on 3 off.

That is a long post but I appreciate the advice

thanks

I assume your vit B complex has Folic acid in it?

I would add maybe a Vet E to take with your C as they are great antioxidants and help each other out.

I would also get fish oils tablets with a high DHA&EPA dose, and take instead of/along with Cod liver oil. Cod liver oil is good but has Vit D in it and that can get toxic if you take high doses. allot of people (including ymyself) like to take between 6 to 12 fish oil tabs per day, and you cant really take that many cod liver tabs.

i would also ad a garlic supp. maybe 1g per day.

Ihave taken allot of different supps and i will no doubt continue to try different combinations but my staple is

Fish oils
Multi vit&mineral
Garlic

Also when i remember

Vit E
Vit C

Twice aday with your Glucosamine

750-1000mg glucosamine sulphate spread over 2 doses
Thats right....you can go upto 1500mgs if your tabs/caplets are either 750mgs or 1500mgs (I usually snap these in half and have half at a time)

500mg Vit C (along with a multi vit)

Correct....250mgs per dose if possible at the times your not taking your multi vit....

Multi vit I would take just once per day

Follow instructions of tub for now ok

Forgot to mention that if your using cod liver oil you won`t need an extra Vit E capsule, you`ll get enough imo from the cod liver oil...

My Vitamins

Postby aidenatreyu » Sun Apr 01, 2007 4:11 am

I purchase two vitamins from Total Focus, they're called; Complete Elemental Antioxidant Formula and Superior Omega-3 Fish Oil blah blah blah. Anyway, they claim that most One-a-days and multivitamins use junk source material and are lacking some vital nutrients, like minerals and herbs that help out your eyes and brain.

I`ve seen that written before, and they were recommending coloidal minerals etc for a far better quality product with all round greater absorbtion..
