Anybody know the status of whey and halal?

I`m sure its classed as ok for halal followers to use being as its made from cheese etc...

Broadly speaking, halal is like kosher in the sense that it requires a certain method of preparation, eg. animals need to be slaughtered in a certain way, etc. I guess milk can be "halal" if it's prepared/obtained in the prescribed manner (there's probably info about this on the web).

Did a bit of a search and none of it really came up conclusive...

in manchester theres a halal kebab shop, no word of a lie, its next to the bus station, im sure theres similar near you, just nip in and ask the guys

i thought halal meat was just that it was bled earlier.......didnt think it was over relevant to milk etc, never seen halal milk in the shops

Yeah thats more or less my understanding Sam69 except I believe theyhave to be facing a certain direction (North???) when they are bled.
