For some reason I found out about one of Elvis's favourite sandwiches today. Basically it was called the Fool's Gold Loaf and it was a hollowed out white loaf filled with a jar each of peanut butter, grape jam (jelly), and a pound of crispy bacon. This was then slathered in butter and baked until golden!
The finished product contained around 5,000 kcal.
I decided for some reason to make a modified version with (smaller quantities of) peanut butter, blackcurrant jam (grape is hard to come by in the UK) and bacon, all in a finger roll.
It was great!!!!
The ingredients all worked really well together and in short it was not the claggy, sickly mess that I expected it to be.
Just don't eat too many of them.
