Think TH&S had a go with mega doses to see what would happen.

More energy, less joint dryness. No weight gain though. No idea where Poliquin gets that from.

Going back on the Mega Doses again

Thats interesting, how long did you hit the high dose to notice a difference?

Were you taking on board adiquet protein? how many carbs were you consuming?

I've run about 3 diets over that time.

So from Zero Carbs, to low carbs to high carbs. Protein - between 150g ED and 200g ED.

Takes about 2 or 3 days to kick in.

depends on your diet. the ideal ratio of 6 to 3 is 3 to 1 (im getting all this from uconn students who helped perform a study and gave the results on another forum almost 5 years ago). if the meat you consume is 'unnatural' instead of 'natural' then your intake of omega 6 is elevated and is the reason omega 3 intake is so beneficial here in north america since most of of our meat is corporate raised. corn fed cows have been tested to have ratios of 11-21 to 1 while grass fed have tested 3-4 to 1. most of the people poliquin trains eat corporate farmed meat, so the super-mega doses of omega 3 make sense for them because of how much 6 they consume.

So is there any general amount people ought to take? I just kinda don't want bad joints since dad's knees are so destroyed by rugger. Got to think about where I'll be in 40 years time....

last time I went looking for recommeded dosages I found that opinion varied so there wasnt really a general amount advised.
the daily dose on the back of the tub I currently have says 3000mg. Im on 7000mg daily.

Righto, thanks. I've been taking 2000 as the tub said 1000 but I figured I'm young enough for my body to cope with a little bit much. Whether it's purely placebo or not I think it's helping.

I don't believe any of the research linking fish oil to impotence or dslyxai.

Hmmmm, I think the fish oils may actually be having a positive effect. My joints generally fail sort of "primed" like I've started exercising even when I haven't been. Thanks for the hints on dosage.

Nice expression. Primed. I like that.

Fish Oils improve the quality and quantity of the synovial fluid in the joints.
