I have read a pre shake, during shake, and post shake (as soon as finished) is best followed by another about one hour after and then a solid meal an hour or two after that is recomended, i can't do this as i work out late, so I do what I can.

I always take a shake pre work out and normaly sip some of my post shake half way through my workout. From all the research there has been, it's obvious the post work out our body needs nutrition and it does seem that the sooner the better.

Don't stress, just have a shake with you, simple. It seems stupid any one would state that 10 minutes is IT!!!!

As a side not, Poliquin suggests any of his atheletes over 10% bodyfat, he gives a protein shake with something like 50g of glutamine and no carbs post work out!
