post workout revisited

Postby Scott » Fri Jul 07, 2006 5:48 pm

ive read quite a few articles about post workout shakes. most of them push either carbs only or a carb protein mix. one article in particular from John Berardis site reckoned you should have a carb protein mix of 2:1.
even a serving of pro-recover is about 45g carbs and 20-25 protein.
so if you can take a big blast of simple carbs what about a chocolate spread sandwich or something. I know Kerry used to eat a bag of jelly babies post workout. seems like a cool idea to me

Me I`m using a 50/50 mix at the moment in a shake then 30 mins later a solid meal.

In the olden days they just fired down a steak and some eggs,

Its all about experimenting to see which helps you recover best.
