Tescos nutrition values

Postby Scott » Sun Jul 11, 2010 12:30 pm

I was re-doing a diet spreadsheet which I lost. Basically (among other things) when you input the protein, carbs and fat it will display the calories. Adding up protein *4, carbs *4 and fat *9 should tell you the calories.... yeah?
if thats the case then all the values on tescos website are well out. some by quite a bit.

example of their chicken:

They state the breakdown:
protein: 21.8g = 82.72 kcals
fat : 3.2g = 28.8 kcals
carbs : 0

tesco kcals = 120

but 82.72 + 28.8 + 0 = 111.52 kcals. ok thats only 9 kcals out but some of them were 40 cals out. That would soon mount up over a week.

unless Im doing it wrong.

Email them & ask what format they are using because some of their numbers are not adding up ;-)
