Talking to a couple of guys at work who were raving about 5 HTP in terms of general mental well being & depth of sleep.

Anyone used it?

Picked up 30 tablets of this. Will see how it goes.

Took 1 100mg tablet after tea last night (supposed to be taken with food) & started to feel really chilled a couple of hours later. Four hours after taking I was in bed. Asleep within a minute or two tops. I think if I hadn't woken up cold or wanting loo I would have slept right through. Once I woke I couldn't get back off. Still had a slight grogginess like I get off ZMA but not as bad.

Dream state even more vivid than ZMA yet I wasn't aware of them waking me like ZMA does.

how bad is the grogginess?

something that calms you would seem to be good for me.
what is the supposed benefits of5 HTP or ZMA?

Nothing major. Sort of like you'd woken up with a bit of a start & needed another hour in bed.

I'll not be taking it everyday. Just on those that I've had hard workouts on to help with recovery.

Sounds good.
Problem I have is I often have to wake up in the night as often I have to wake up with thea if she's ill, sleep walking etcv etc

Tried one first thing this morning. Noticed a more mellow attitude at work :lol:

Found taking this early afternoon is best. Still gives you some intense dream states & a bit of grogginess in the morning.

Have 100mg tabs.

Found another version to use which has Vitamin 6, niacin, magnesium and chamomile in it. Looking for more quality sleep.
