Wheat/Gluten

Postby Cookie » Wed Dec 19, 2012 6:03 pm

Been removing this from diet a lot recently. Stomach has shrunk considerably the last week or so. Anyway just finished tea & wife offered me a slice of a chocolate brownie a friend of hers had made.

"Gordon Bennett" been rolling around on the floor in all sorts of pain with my stomach. Upper abdomen feels like someone's stuck a balloon in there & blown me up to bursting point. Rest of it feels like I've swallowed razor blades.

Coincidence?

Anyone else had issues with wheat/gluten?

Stomach still not right today. Ended up missing a meal because I could face putting anything into my stomach.

Have been using some gluten free bread products & they are quite good.

Try a teaspoon or two of baking soda next time your stomach is screwed up. Works great and is cheap.

Used it many a time. Now looking at ways to stop the need to treat the symptom.

I have found similar, since cleaning my diet up I seem to be very sensitive to certain foods, grain bread, sweets such as chocolate,I'm not sure by my theory is that the gut is clear from a layer of protective gunk and therefore the normal bacteria flourish and when you eat something you have refrained from there is then an imbalance of gut bacteria and this may cause problems
