Turmeric & Ginger Tea

Called into an Asian shop today to get some Turmeric. What they told me to pick up looked just like ginger and smelt like ginger to me.

Is that right?

Are they both that close?

no its like mini ginger and smells of tumeric and is brown skinned like a sweet potatoe and orange like a sweet potatoe inside


Tried that milk one last night and like the tatse of that a lot, the ginger and milk works well together

Did you use a blender to whiz it up at the end?

Out today and going to have a look at some of the bigger market stores to see if they sell the Turmeric if not it'll be down to checking the local market at the weekend.

mate the place o0n line is cheap and easy to get next day and i froze the rest of it

Couldn't get hold of any Turmeric around here so ordered some.

Veg guy said he could only get hold of the "white" Turmeric but I've never heard of that one.

never heard of that, go to the link i posted, they are really cheap and freeze it i still have loads in freezer, just grate it when i want it and then strain the milk

i like it seived, smoother taste IMO

Arrived this morning.

WOW that's orange/yellow once you cut it and add it to the milk

Slightly different taste as well.

Been a little lax with it

Need to get my head out of my arse and back to using it daily.

Only mistake I made with the frozen stuff was to let it thaw out first then it went all mussy I just sling it in the blender frozen and whizz it up now.

bit messy otherwise too
