PWO drink

Postby Pete » Tue Nov 21, 2006 3:03 pm

Just got a custom blend for PWO from My Protein. I tried to match the macros and ingredients from Biotests Surge as closely as i could cos ChefX rates it. I made sure I got sweetener and flavouring added as i've heard hydroised whey is really bitter. I ended up with a really sweet banana flavour followed by a wierd bitter after taste. Drinkable enough though, and I don't think there's any way around it with hydrolised whey.
Heres my formula:

Custom Formula:
-20% Maltodextrin
-3% Creatine Monohydrate
-7% L Glutamine
-30% Hydrolysed Whey Protein
-40% Dextrose

Anyone else done anything similar. Think it was about £15 a kilo, so a lot cheaper than Surge and similar PWO drinks.

I just use some whey off The whey consortium and add to it a serving or 2 of Powers bar`s Sports Performance Drink which I have found to be the best drink on the market as it contains all the things you need for optimum recovery..imho..and was especially designed for endurance sports people..Cyclists use it a lot...
