are there places that a spectator can take pictures

They have official photographers at specific points on the courses. But at Birmingham the course layout was so open because of it being part of the army barracks that the spectators could wonder over the greater part of the course without interfering with the runners & take pictures or cheer people on.

Perfect place for that type of event & a lot of runners said so on the day.

cool, i think we have a couple of spectators as well as my decent camera to take some pics and videos

Big thanks to Spartan Race for the new hoodie they kindly sent for doing the race review above.

Its going to come in very handy for what's planned for next year :twisted:

Sounds sweet, a little more to it than the one I ran.
They used fake barb wire for ours :-$

Second installment of the race will be fired up hopefully by the weeks end.

They'll also be racing at the same venue next year in September. Need to confirm with mate that its nailed on we are doing it.

Going to be a busy year.
