Working on hip hinge for stronger running and injury prevention.

Improved strength in the hips through proper movement mechanics & learning to keeping the back in the correct alignment with the use of the broomstick handle so the back stays flat.

you're hinging by tilting forward, you need to hinge by sticking your butt backwards

And should I be dropping the upper body as low as its going?

yes you can drop the body as low as you want keeping the spine neutral

Had a "mess" with it a couple of times and it does feel "different". Much more pull on my hamstrings which I'm thinking is probably a combination of tightness there & still in my back.

if you are hinging properlyyou will feel the tightness in glutes and hams
