I have about 6 different pillows, one even water filled but the memory foam is the winner. I have had numerous neck injuries and can easily detect what works and what does not.

Your as bad as me
I have a few pillows & its not unusual for me to change pillows midway through the night
Never used a water filled one but the memory foam ones do seem the way to go. Especially if you get a good quality one & one that`s a decent size.

And yeah I change out as needed. My two favorites are a heavy memory foam and a light memory foam. The heavy one is usually best. The lighter one I use if I knock the neck out wrestling because it does not raise it up quite as high.
