Tour de France Stage 15

Stage 15 – Limoux Montpellier 192.5 km

And the “Manx Missile” makes it number 4 on a very fast but windy course which had the HCT express working extremely hard to keep Cavendish on course for the coveted green jersey.

With an attack happening at around the 3 km mark with a group of 5 riders staying out in front for a majority of the race building up to over 4 minutes at one stage. The peloton had to work hard to bring them back into the fold with speeds of up to 43km/h as the HCT highroad express worked at the front for a majority of the race with Saxo-bank helping out at around 30km.

The final breakaway rider was caught with just 3km to go and this was when HCT highroad showed what they do best. A perfect lead out for Cavendish to unleashing all his explosive power with just 200m to go. Another race won and a few more Euro’s in the team pot.

Question now remains:

Will Mark Cavendish be racing for HCT highroad or Sky after this years tour?

Thomas Voeckler of team Europcar holds onto the yellow jersey with all of France asking: Will he finally win the Tour de France?

Total distance covered: 2641 km
